During his senior year at Tucker High School and leading the team to a State Championship in 2007, MarShon accepted a scholarship offer to play for Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.  Although he didn’t see much playing time his freshman and sophomore seasons, he became a starter and major contributor during his junior season.  As a senior MarShon took on a much bigger role and lead his team and the Big East Conference in scoring at almost 25ppg.  He also finished No. 2 in the country in scoring as well.  He recorded 43 points against Georgetown in February, 2011 and followed up a week later with a 52 point performance against No. 7 ranked Notre Dame.  The 52 point performance was enough to land MarShon in the Big East record books for the most points (52) and field goals made (20-28) in a single game.  He finished the regular season with 468 points which broke the previous single season record of 462.
